We are looking for an outgoing candidate that loves bees and wants to help spread our mission of saving bees, while selling our delicious honey and making lovely beeswax candles.

We are seeking a Retail Sales Associate for our Salem Shop. This is part time or full time position. Must be able to work weekends. Work is available on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays.

About Us

Beverly Bees makes award winning micro batch honey, handmade 100% pure beeswax candles and organic beeswax skin care from our organic and sustainably managed hives located across Massachusetts. Our local Massachusetts honey and honey comb won Five Good Food Awards. These national awards are for taste and sustainable beekeeping methods.

We save and rescue feral bees, preventing them from being exterminated! We work hard every day to save bees. We work to rescue unwanted nuisance bees from buildings and trees, saving them from extermination. We rehabilitate, care for and maintain these hives in pesticide free locations across Massachusetts where they pollinate our landscape, protecting our environment and local food supply. To date we have saved over 15,000,000 bees!

Responsibilities:

The Retail Sales Associate and Candlemaker will be responsible for all aspects of sales at our shop. The position requires the ability to communicate effectively with our customers, other vendors, and staff.

General responsibilities will include: making candles, helping customers, ringing up sales, cleanliness of the retail shop and candle making area, keeping track of inventory in stock, making, labeling and packaging products, packing up internet orders, packing for markets/events and assisting with on demand needs of the company. Attention to detail a must!

General Requirements:

The Retail Sales Associate and Candlemaker must be available to work weekends and one of the following days Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays; and be able to safely lift and carry at least 50 pounds. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as inter-dependently with other staff.

The ideal candidate will be an advocate of beekeeping/urban agriculture in and around Massachusetts. Must be reliable, self-motivated, strong with math, organized and have strong customer service and communication skills.

Educate customers about the importance of the honeybee to our food system, as well as the value of raw honey and other bee products, and field specific questions from customers.
